KARACHI: An ugly spat between a former legendary cricketer Javed Miandad and star all-rounder Shahid Afridi has aggravated to a level prompting the latter to take the matter to the court.
Afridi has decided to approach court against Miandad for his remarks in which he accused Afridi of fixing matches for money.
He responded to accusations during a media talk saying “money has always been an issue for Miandad.”
He, however, expressed remorse on his remarks for the legendary cricketer but he made no secret of what he described of his “patience to tolerate such barbs for a long time.”
The former T20 captain said it was natural of him to respond to such baseless allegations. “It was a personal attack on me,” he added.
Javed Miandad, while leveling match fixing allegations against Afridi on a private TV channel, said Afridi fixed matches and sold Pakistan team. “The whole team had fixed matches,” alleged the former cricketer.
“If I had any money related issues, I would not have left the team, but I did,” he added.
