KARACHI: Renowned writer Anwar Maqsood has said that people worlwill respond to the appeal by Prime Minister Imran Khan and donate generously to the dams funds.
“I want to see a green Pakistan. This is only possible when dams are constructed. We want to build the future but unfortunately no attention was given in the past,” he said while during ARY News programme ‘Sawal Yeh Hai’ hosted by Maria Memon.
Maqsood, a staunch supporter of the prime minister, said that Imran Khan is the only person who raised his voice against corruption.
He said that overseas Pakistan will respond to his appeal and will donate generously to the dams fund.
“A thousand dollars for overseas Pakistanis is like 100 rupees for us,” he said, adding that Imran Khan should even appeal to the affluent people in the country.
He hoped that Imran Khan will fulfill the promises he has envisioned and is currently seen as ray of hope and ‘shining star’ for the nation.
He said that he has lived in the country ever since he came in 1948 and is proud of the country. He said he wished that nation will develop and prosper and people should now support Imran Khan.
Renowned comedian Umar Sharif also highlighted the importance of water conservation and said that every droplet is precious and should be saved.
He said that donations should be made to the dams fund to avert a drought , and would be a great service to the nation. He hoped that people across the country would step forward and contribute to the dam fund.
