RAWALPINDI: Director General Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor on Monday assured Ms Samar Khan, world’s first lady cyclist to bicycle on 4500 m high Biafo Glacier, full support on her efforts.
Outside the polar regions, the Biafo Glacier is the world’s third longest glacier.
Samar Khan, who hails from Lower Dir district of Malakand division, called on the DG ISPR and apprised him of her efforts to promote a culture of sports amongst the youth especially girls and create awareness about climate change.
She also discussed her upcoming expedition to Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa.
The cyclist holds a Master’s degree in Physics and she discovered her passion for sports during a Para-gliding course in Army School of Physical Training Kakul.
Asif Ghafoor appreciated her achievements.
