ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) here on Thursday has sought the estate details belonging to Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and Chief Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Tahir-ul-Qadri located in three cities, ARY News reported.
The court was hearing a case against the duo in connection with their involvement in the attack on then-Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Asmatullah Junejo during the 2014 sit-ins in the federal capital.
During the court proceedings today, the videos’ segments of inciting speeches delivered by the two leaders were also submitted before the court.
The court directed secretariat police station to provide the details of properties belonging to PTI and PAT chiefs from three cities while further directing police to garner these details from the district collector officer Lahore and Mianwali respectively.
The court also issued summons to witnesses to appear before it for recording their statements including the assault victim – SSP Junejo – and adjourned the hearing till August 31.
It merits to mention here that Khan, Qadri and several others were booked over their alleged involvement in an attack on then-Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) of Islamabad (Operations) Asmatullah Junejo during the 2014 sit-ins in the capital.
Earlier, the police informed the ATC that the arrest warrants issued against Khan and Qadri could not be executed as they were not found at listed residences.
The police had submitted a report before the ATC saying that a police party went to the residence of Khan in Bani Gala, where a security guard informed them that Khan was not at home and he did not know his whereabouts.
The court officials had revealed that a similar report was also submitted in connection with the execution of Qadri’s arrest warrants.
