LAHORE: An Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) on Tuesday granted pre-arrest bail to a suspect in Babar Butt killing case during the hearing, ARY News reported.
A petition in the court was filed by the suspect, named Habib, claiming that he had no links with recent killing of Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader and being subjected to political victimization.
After the arguments, the court granted the accused a pre-arrest bail till March 24, 2017.
Babar Sohail Butt, a PPP ticket holder in 2013 general elections, was killed in a brazen gun-attack inside his home in Lahore last week.
The attack enraged many PPP leaders including Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari who demanded arrest of the culprits behind the incident.
Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) authorities yesterday claimed to arrest the prime suspect, Atif Jutt, behind the killing from Pak Pattan.
