LAHORE: The culprit allegedly behind killing of former Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) ticket holder Babar Butt arrested on Monday near Chenab River by Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), ARY News reported.
Atif Jatt, the alleged killer, was traced through his cell phone and detained by the CIA personnel.
The former PPP ticket holder was gunned down at his residence last week. The killing of the party activist sparked anger in PPP leaders and workers.
An FIR was also lodged against PML-N Member National Assembly (MNA) Suhail Shoukat Butt who had taken pre-arrest bail.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari strongly condemned the killing and expressed concern over rising number of attacks on PPP workers in Punjab.
