KARACHI: The mortal remains of Sabika Sheikh, who was killed in Texas school shooting, are likely to reach Karachi tonight, ARY News reported.
According to details, the plane carrying her body is expected to touch down at Karachi airport tonight.
The funeral prayers of the deceased will be held tomorrow at Baitul Mukarram mosque after which she will be laid to rest at Azeempura graveyard in Shah Faisal Colony.
Sabika, who was part of the YES exchange programme funded by the U.S. State Department, was shot dead in Santa Fe School massacre.
The recent shooting incident that took place at a Texas high school killed at least 10 people while other 10 are battling for their lives when a 17-year-old opened fire at students inside the school.
One of the students who became a target of ‘America’s gun culture’ and lost her life in this tragedy was Sabika Sheikh.
Sabika Sheikh, a resident of Karachi, was part of the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) programme. She was among 75 Pakistani students who were selected to study abroad under the scholarship programme.
Sheikh was an A-levels student and was expected to return to home on the 9th of June.
The deceased’s father, saying that he still cannot believe that his daughter is no more, shared that Sabika was a genius girl who used to achieve excellent grades always. She was both a bright student and a caring daughter.
Sabika was the eldest child of her parents, she has two younger sisters.
