ISLAMABAD: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has approved 17 development projects worth Rs178.3 billion.
The approval was accorded by CDWP meeting held in Islamabad on Thursday with Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal in the chair.
The projects include construction of Right Bank Outfall Drain in Sindh, three mega projects in communication sector, construction of Shaheed Beanzir Bhutto Bridge over Indus River, two projects in housing sector, and agriculture project for promotion of olive cultivation on commercial scale in Pakistan.
The CDWP also approved three projects in higher education sector to award scholarship to students from Gwadar, Science Talent Farming Scheme and ‘Award of Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships to 3,000 Afghan students’.
Under the project, students from Gwadar will be facilitated to get higher education at Pakistan’s universities and learn Chinese language abroad.
