CM Punjab participates in annual ghusal ceremony at Data Darbar

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar on Thursday participated in the annual ghusal ceremony of the holy shrine of Hazrat Ali Bin Usman Al Hajvery, popularly known as Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA), ARY News reported.

Punjab CM Usman Buzdar, provincial ministers Pir Syed Saeed Ul Hassan Shah, Mian Aslam Iqbal, secretary Auqaf and a large number of faithful attended the ghusal ceremony at the shrine commonly known as Data Darbar.

Sardar Usman Buzdar and others performed ghusal of the shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA) with rosewater and laid the floral wreath. Sardar Usman Buzdar and other participants also prayed for prosperity and peace in the country.

The ceremony is performed every year on 9th of Muharruma head of the renowned Sufi saint’s annual Urs ceremonies.

Ali Hajveri (RA) is venerated as the patron saint of Lahore by residents of the city. His shrine, popularly known as Data Darbar, is one of the most frequented shrines in South Asia.

At present, it is Pakistan’s largest shrine “in numbers of annual visitors and in the size of the shrine complex.
