According to an ISPR press statement, Gen Sharif in his meetings with the Emir and PM of Qatar held discussion on matters relating to regional security and enhanced bilateral defence cooperation between the two states.

“The Qatari leadership reiterated that Pakistan and Qatar share brotherly relations which over a period of time are transforming into strategic and mutually beneficial ties,” read the statement. “While expressing their satisfaction at the level of defence relations between armed forces of both countries, both sides underscored the importance of further enhancing the cooperation.”
They acknowledged Pakistan’s role in bringing about regional stability and lauded the efforts of Pakistan Army in countering terrorism and bringing peace in the region, it added.
The COAS also held separate meetings with Minister of Defence Affairs, Doctor Khalid Bin Muhammad Al-Attiya and Major General Muhammad Bin Ali Al-Ghanim, Commander Qatari Emiri Land Force (QELF).
