QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Saturday visited Quetta and attended funeral prayer of Shaheed Siraj Raisani, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) leader, whom he hailed as a brave soldier of Pakistan.
Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor said the army chief met Raisani’s family and visited CMH Quetta to meet the injured of Mastung blast victims.
The COAS expressed his deepest empathy with all bereaved families of the Mastung blast incident, the DG ISPR said.
Referring to shaheed Siraj Raisani as a ‘Soldier of Pakistan’, COAS said that we have lost a die-hard brave patriot Pakistani who shall be remembered for his commitment and contributions for Pakistan.
He acknowledged sacrifices of three generations of Siraj Raisani’s family.

Qamar Bajwa said that the journey to peace had not yet reached the desired destination of complete peace but we are successfully nearing its achievement.
“We as a nation have stood up to the challenges of terrorism and extremism and shall defeat all inimical forces undeterred,” he said.
Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa was also present on this occasion.
The funeral prayer of Siraj Raisani was offered at Moosa Stadium in Quetta Cantt. Caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan Allauddin Marri also attended funeral prayer.
A large number of political and tribal elders, local residents, high ranking officials and hundreds of people were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, the funeral prayers of 128 martyrs of Mastung blast were offered in their ancestral areas.
