The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:-
i) Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: US$ 16,078.1 million
ii) Net foreign reserves held by banks : US$ 4,806.8 million
iii) Total liquid foreign reserves : US$20,884.9 million
During the week ending on April 1, SBP’s liquid foreign reserves increased by US$490 million to US$16,078 million, compared to US$15,588 million in the previous week.
The SBP, during the week, received US$ 978 million from multilateral, bilateral and other official sources, which include US$503 million received from IMF under EFF and US$ 408 million as financing for Government of Pakistan.
The central bank also made payments of US$ 602 million on account of external debt servicing, which includes repayment of US$518 million against Pakistan Sovereign Bond.
