Mother of two and a successful model in Singapore with numerous awards to her credit, Chaudhry wanted to open a fashion school in Pakistan.
The prime accused in the case, Muaz Waqar, had lured the supermodel and brought her to Pakistan. She went missing on October 12, 2013, and the accused had demanded Rs 20 million against her release.
Officials soon traced Waqar with the help of phone records and he later confessed to the crime during investigations. Police later recovered her dead from Bhara Kahu, Islamabad, upon identification by the culprit.
The court today sentenced Muaz Waqar to death and his accomplice, Asif, to life in prison, after the two were convicted of Chaudhry’s murder.
