WASHINGTON: Apparently raged at CNN which he often refers as ‘Fake News’, US President Donald Trump has quietly launched his own news bulletin show to list his achievements as a president.
The President’s campaign Facebook page on Sunday night shared a video featuring former CNN commentator Kayleigh McEnany delivering the “news of the week from Trump Tower.”
Last night’s Trump TV launch follows a ‘soft launch’ video last week, which saw Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump list the President’s “accomplishments” because “, according to Trump, there’s so much fake news out there.”
McEnany left CNN on Saturday, the day before Trump TV launched. It’s unclear whether she is paid by the Trump campaign or the White House.
Ahead of the election, when it looked like Trump was going to lose, his team reportedly looked into launching a TV network – Trump TV – as a fallback business.
Former US ambassador to Russia, Michael McFaul tweeted: “Wow. Feels eerily like so many state-owned channels I’ve watched in other countries.”
