Donkey punished for crashing into car in Pakpattan

PAKPATTAN: Police on Tuesday arrested a donkey for reportedly running into a car in Punjab’s  Pakpattan district, ARY News reported.

As per details, the donkey ran into the car, partially damaging it. Subsequently, the police took the donkey into custody and brought him to police check post where they tethered the animal to a tree.

Donkeys had

made headlines in the buildup to the July 25 general elections when some political activists reportedly beat them up to offend a rival party. They [activists] wrote a name of a rival political leader on donkeys and thrashed them ruthlessly.

The acts of torture of the animals was widely condemned on social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook.
