A passenger coach hailing from Karachi collided with a trailer near Hub road, killing at least eight people on the spot, but the death toll later surged to 11. Those died included women and four minor children. Thirty five others also sustained injuries.
Rescue sources told that 17 persons were in critical condition and they were moved to a hospital in Karachi.
The remaining injured passengers were shifted to nearby hospitals. Police said the actual cause of the accident would be ascertained after the probe. However, they suspected speeding to be the major reason behind the fatal road collision.
