Emir of Qatar departs after two-day state visit

Prime Minister Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif sees Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad al Thani off at Nur Khan Airbase Rawalpindi. Cabinet members, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Rashad Mahmood and the three services chiefs were also present at the time of his departure.

During the two day visit to Pakistan, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad al Thani attended Pakistan Day celebrations and held meeting with high-rank officials including PM Nawaz and President Mamnoon Hussain.

The two sides discussed ways to boost bilateral cooperation in various fields with focus on trade and energy. Regional and international issues of bilateral importance were also discussed.

Emir of Qatar has signed several agreements with Pakistan to enhance trade and strengthen cooperation in the field of defence. The agreements were signed following the delegation level talks between the two countries.

Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani expressed interest in enhancing the number of Pakistanis working in Qatar for various development projects. He said Qatar attaches great importance to its relations with Pakistan.
