ISLAMABAD: On his appearance before an accountability court here on Wednesday, disqualified Prime Minister’s son-in-law Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar called for  extradition of former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf to Pakistan.

Talking to media persons outside the accountability court, Safdar complained over the accountability investigation restricted to Sharif family members only.

“An investigation against Musharraf should also be launched,” he said.

Holding the former president responsible for all prevailing issues, Safdar deemed an investigation against Musharraf imperative to protect the state and the constitution.

Referring to his opponent, Sharif’s son-in-law further opined that the 1973 constitution is strong enough to extradite the former president.

“The time has come when Musharaf should also face the court alongside Sharif family members,” he added.

Earlier today, Safdar along with his wife Maryam Nawaz and father Nawaz Sharif appeared before the accountability court in graft references filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in compliance with Supreme Court’s landmark July 28 verdict.
