PESHAWAR: A magnitude 4.6 earthquake was felt in Peshawar, Swat and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province early Friday morning.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Center, the quake struck at a depth of 186 kilometers and was centered in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.
There were no reports of loss of lives and property as a result of the tremor.
Earlier on Nov 28, a magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck Pakistan’s northern areas.The tremor, which was felt in several parts of the country, reportedly caused no loss of life and property.
Tremors were felt in Abbottabad, Malakand, Upper Dir, Lower Dir, Balakot, Mardan, Chitral and North Waziristan. The epicentre of the earthquake was Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan
Owing to the tremor, which lasted for a few seconds, people rushed out of their houses and office buildings amid fear and panic.
