KARACHI: Former Pakistani cricketer and current bowling coach for Pakistan cricket team Mushtaq Ahmed has picked up his All Time XI which includes one Pakistani, three South Africans and four Australian players.

The leg break googly maestro, Mushtaq, was, in fact, master of several variations which include legbreak, wrong’un, flipper and top spinner.

Mushy chose a combination of England’s left-hander Alastair Cook and South African great batsman Hashim Amla for opening.

He put another strong wall of batting defence with one of the best captain of cricket history Australian Ricky Ponting and Indian Little Master Sachin Tendulkar for top order batting line.

The Pakistani cricketer picked up two more uncanny South African players for the middle order batting, AB De Villiers and Jacques Kallis.

For the job behind the wickets, he chose arguably the best wicket keeper South Africa’s Adam Gilchrist.

Deceptive, fast, reverse swing, yorker plus ability to bat as well were the adjectives Mushtaq used to describe Pakistani left-arm seamer Wasim Akram while naming a combination of bowling line of defence for his team.

Malcolm Marshall was followed by Wasim in the line-up. He is regarded as one of the finest and fastest pacemen ever to have played Test cricket.

Then, came in two Australian bowlers Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath, one a charismatic legspinner and the other a fast-medium pace bowler.
