KARACHI: Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker and human rights activist Malaika Raza on Friday joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) after differences with the PTI.
A statement issued by PPP media cell confirmed that former head of PTI media research wing Malaika Raza has quit PTI and joined the PPP.
The statement said Malaika made this announcement in a meeting with Vice-President PPP Sherry Rehman, Secretary General PPP Farhatullah Babar, senior PPP leader Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari and General Secretary PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi at Zardari House in Islamabad.
PPP media cell said Malaika Raza quit PTI over its fundamentalist policies and after realizing that youth and women had no promising political opportunity in the party.
On the other hand, Malaika Raza said the PPP played crucial role in struggle for the rights of women, minorities and youth.
She said the PPP has bravely fought against extremism.
