KARACHI: Two buildings collapsed in Kalri area of Lyari on Sunday, five individuals injured in the incident have been pulled out from the rubble which also include two police officer, ARY News reported.
According to details, a six-storey building had tilted to one side before collapsing into a heap while also incurring damage to a five-storey building adjacent to it which eventually lead to it falling as well.

Locals along with police officers were busy evacuating residents from the tilted building when it collapsed, a dead body of a female has also been found among the debris which is as yet unidentified, the dead body along with the injured have all been shifted to Civil Hospital.
Rescue teams have made their way to the site of the building collapse and relief and rescue efforts are currently underway.
Pakistan Rangers, Sindh and local police personnel have reached the site and are assisting in the rescue and relief operation.

A large crowd has gathered to overlook proceedings which is hindering the relief operations, authorities have repeatedly asked onlookers to clear the area but to no avail.
Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) have told that the five storey building was 25 to 30 years old and was in tatters.
The structure was erected on a 400 square yard plot and was asked to be evacuated by SBCA prior to the collapse, claim officials.

It has also been claimed that the residents had been issued multiple notices to leave the building due to its dilapidated condition but many refused to pay heed.
Reasons for the collapse are being determined while a conclusive answer to how many people may be stuck under the debris also remains undetermined.
