First block of 6th Population Census completed

ISLAMABAD: First block of the first phase under countrywide ‘6th population and housing census’ completed on Wednesday in sixty-three districts across the country by counting homeless people, ARY News reported.

The census teams surveyed various areas till late night to count homeless people in the first block.

According to census officials, the house and headcount of first phase’s first block has been completed and so far data of over one million people has been verified through the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

The second stage of the first phase under the sixth population and housing census will begin from March 31 (Friday).

According

to state radio, during this stage 6,445 blocks of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 125 of FATA, 20,188 of Punjab, 9,081 of Sindh, 2,814 of Balochistan, 1,222 of AJK and 360 of Gilgit Baltistan would be covered.

The house listing operation in the second block of phase one will begin on Friday and remain continue for three days.

In this regard, a control room has been established at Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) in Islamabad and toll number has been issued to register complaints from public.

The first phase of the sixth population census will conclude on April 15, while the second phase will be conducted between April 25 and May 25.
