Forming military courts: NA defers approval of bill till tomorrow

The PPP requested the Lower House that it was marking the 87th birth anniversary of its founding leader Zulfikar Ali Bhutto (late) today, hence voting on the bill should be deferred till tomorrow (Tuesday).

The NA had resumed its session at Parliament House in Islamabad this afternoon to continue discussion on constitutional amendment for speedy trial of terrorists.

The House was likely to pass the Constitution (Twenty-first Amendment) bill 2015 and Pakistan Army (Amendment) bill 2015 to amend the Army Act 1952.

The bills are aimed at speedy trial of offences relating to terrorism, waging of war against Pakistan and prevention of acts threatening the security of the country.
