A police mobile van was on its routine patrolling when the assailants attacked it near Shaikh Zayed Hospital. Police retaliated to their firing and shot dead four attackers in exchange of fires. They belonged to a banned outfit.
Police had called more personnel and Anti Terrorism Force by cordoning off the area. After two hours of search operation, police cleared the area.
The dead and injured were shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities and medical treatment respectively.
