Runtime of Game of Thrones final season episodes revealed

HBO through its programming schedule has revealed the runtimes for all the six episodes of eight and final season of the epic drama series Game of Thrones.

The first two episodes, to be aired on April 14 and April 21, will have the runtimes of 54 minutes and 58 minutes, respectively.

The third episode will have a runtime of 60 minutes, a full one hour, after which the episodes will start getting considerably longer to account for the last season of arguably the world’s most popular TV show.

The season finale will be the longest episode of the season and will match the runtime of season 7 finale “The Dragon and the Wolf”, which also ran for 80 minutes.

In the eighth and final season, there will be two episodes at 80 minutes with the fifth episode having the same runtime as the season finale.

TV pundits have, however, warned that the runtimes can be changed by a few minutes and that the schedule released up till now is subject to change.

The first episode of Game of Thrones aired on April 17, 2011 and the final episode of the show is scheduled to be aired on May 19, 2019.

The viewership of the show has only increased with time, with season 7 viewed by as many as 12 million people in the United States alone on the day of season finale.
