SUKKUR: Unfazed by recent criticism over his apolitical views and soliciting votes for the ruling Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N), Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair Umar on Sunday continued with controversial political campaigns.
During a meeting at the Sukkur airport with PML-N office bearer from Larkana and Sukkur district, Governor Sindh instructed them to start preparations for the next general elections.
He tasked them to start the selection process to pick the best candidates for their respective constituencies. He said that federal government will extend full support to them in the next general elections.

Khursheed Shah demands governor’s resignation
Earlier, Leader of Opposition and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader strongly condemned the political statements of Governor Sindh. He advised him to resign and instead become the provincial president of PML-N if he wants to continue the political campaigns.
He called on the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to take notice of the governor’s political statements, as it is challenging the constitutional limits. He said that governor should be neutral and remains within his constitutional limits.
PPP to oppose governor’s political campaigns: Khuhro
PPP Sindh President Nisar Khuhro said that the will not object to meeting of Governor Sindh, but will stop him at all forums from political campaigns.
Addressing during a protest camp in Larkana, Khuhro said the governor is the representative of the federation, and is not permitted to run party campaigns.
He said the PML-N has also formed alliances against the PPP but will face an embarrassing defeat in Sindh again.He said that federal government has banned new gas connections to Sindh, but will continue protest over the extended power load shedding in the province.
