A modern-adaptation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet has taken Vishal Bharwaj’s Haider to new heights. The film won enough accolade at home and now it’s being honored internationally also. The movie that gave Shahid Kapoor a new identity and Shrada Kapoor great admiration has won the people’s choice Award in the Monde Genre (world genre) in the Rome Film Festival’s ninth edition.
The movie based on Kashmir as its backdrop one won its first award which its cast overjoyed. The film had an Italian premiere on October 24th
. This is the first Indian movie to win in the main category of people’s choice award in Rome Film Festival.The film was picked out of seven international movies and Haider was the only movie from Asia. The was a hit and did a good business of 22 crore.
