Here’s how Kapil Sharma embarrassed Indian PM Modi

The TV star taunted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Achhe din’ over his resentment to pay bribe asked by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Kapil Sharma expressed his outrage on Twitter by alleging that despite paying Rs 15 crore in income tax for the last five years, he was asked to pay Rs 5 lakh as bribe to a BMC official to set up his office.

In the next tweet, Kapil Sharma jeered at Modi by asking him sarcastically if these were the ‘achhe din’.

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis was quick to take notice of the issue and promised prompt action.

M Pawar, a chief engineer in the vigilance department, told news agency ANI that the civic body will take strict action if the allegations are found to be true. He added that BMC does not ‘tolerate’ such kind of corruption within itself.

The civic body is currently ruled by the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance and the next elections are scheduled for 2017. Both parties are also allies in the state government.

But, another Indian journalist Vikrant Gupta also took exception to Sharma on Twitter and alleged that the actor was ‘illegally’ building floor.

Kapil Sharma is currently working on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ on Sony TV with Ali Asgar, Sunil Grover, Kiku Sharda and Navjot Singh Sidhu. S
