According to details, Justice Athar Minallah conducted the hearing of a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) against the electricity over-billing by power distribution companies.
Advocate Farrukh Dar and Qaisar Mahmood represented PTI during the hearing; however the IHC again served notices to NEPRA officials for their absence at the hearing.
The Joint Secretary for Water and Power told the court that newly installed electricity meters are running 35 percent faster than the old ones, resulting in over-billing.
Meanwhile, the court expressed its displeasure over the absence of representatives of power distribution companies and adjourned the hearing till November 24.
