ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Wednesday has challenged former prime minister Imran Khan’s bail in a prohibited funding case, ARY News reported.
The PTI chief was granted bail by a banking court on February 28 in a prohibited funding case registered under Foreign Exchange Act.
FIA’s special prosecutor Rizwan Abbasi filed a plea against granting bail to Imran Khan in the Islamabad High Court. The FIA in its appeal termed the decision of the banking court of confirming Imran Khan’s bail as against the law, and pleaded with the Islamabad High Court to strike down the bail.
The plea has been fixed for hearing. A two-member bench of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani and Justice Tariq Mahmood will take up the plea of FIA.
