ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan has lauded PTI candidate Yasmin Rashid for her efforts for NA-120 by-election in Lahore.
In a message on micro-blogging website Twitter, Imran Khan applauded her courage and determination with which she fought the election.
He said Ms. Rashid fought against the PML-N backed by the federal, provincial and local governments and their massive use of state funds. He also thanked all PTI workers especially women who worked tirelessly in the election campaign.
Dr Yasmin Rashid conceded defeat to Pakistan Muslim League candidate Kulsoom Nawaz, wife of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. As per unofficial results, she secured 47,066 votes against Kulsoom who bagged 61,254 votes to secure the National Assembly seat.

Yasmin Rashid is a courageous woman
PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Secretary General Jehangir Khan Tareen also appreciated Dr. Yasmin Rashid for giving PML-N a tough challenge in the critical by-election.
Qureshi called her a courageous woman who fought the entire state machinery, and all workers who displayed commitment and resilience.
