Indonesian president Joko Widodo arrives in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Indonesian President Joko Widodo arrived here on Friday on a two-day state visit to Pakistan.

President Mamnoon Hussain and the first lady greeted the Indonesian president and first lady Iriana Widodo at Noor Khan Air Base at Chaklala.

Mr Widodo will address the joint session of the parliament today. He will be the second president of Indonesia who will address the joint sitting of parliament.

Earlier, President of Indonesia Dr. Ahmed Soekarno had addressed the National Assembly of Pakistan on 26th June 1963.

President Mamnoon Hussain will host a state banquet in the honor of the visiting Indonesian leader.

Joko Widodo will hold one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi tomorrow, which will be followed by a round of delegation level talks between the officials of the two countries. Various agreements and MoUs will also be signed on the occasion.

PM Abbasi and Indonesian President Joko Widodo will also address a joint press conference.

The prime minister will hold a luncheon in the honor of the visiting dignitary.
