Baby who fainted in PIA flight is fine now

KARACHI: The infant who passed out in a Pakistan International Airline (PIA) flight a few days ago was doing good, an official press release stated Thursday.

“We are very happy to share that mummy and baby from flight PK750 are doing well,” said the release.

Earlier, the PIA ordered an inquiry into the incident after it received huge backlash from the masses on social media after video of the incident was aired on social media as well as on TV news channels.

“The inquiry for the incident is underway and strictest actions will be taken for those found responsible,” the PIA said.

The takeoff schedule of PIA flight PK-750 (Paris to Islamabad) was reportedly delayed for two hours on August 3 when the passengers had already boarded the plane.

A crying mother had urged the crew to open the gate because she was carrying a one-month-old infant, who reportedly passed out due to suffocation as air conditions were not working.

President and CEO PIA Musharraf Rasool Cyan sent his representative and the district manager PIA, Rawalpindi and Islamabad, to meet the family and also called to find out about their welfare.

“Our passengers are important to us and we will take all steps to improve ourselves to ensure a comfortable flying experience for them,” he said.
