Initial police report says Sindh University student committed suicide

JAMSHORO: Initial police investigation into the death of a female student of Jamshoro’s Sindh University suggests that the position-holder student committed suicide, ARY News reported.

Two days ago, a final-year student of the varsity, Naila Rind’s body was found hanging from a hostel room’s ceiling fan.

“Initial post-mortem report says there were no torture marks on the body, there were only ligature marks which appear on a person’s neck after hanging,” police sources say.

Sindh police chief, AD Khawaja had set up a committee to launch a probe into the incident under the leadership of DIG Hyderabad.

‘It was a murder’

Naila’s fellows and other university students narrate a different story and claim that the incident is not suicide but murder.

“It is not a suicide case, it is murder, how Naila managed to enter hostel during vacations,” questioned a university student.

ARY News reporter Zahid Kalhoro claimed that the record collected first said that Rind was residing in room number 34 but the current record says she was residing in room number 36 because her body was recovered from the room.

Hostel Incharge in her statement, however, maintained that Naila was residing in room number 36.

The reporter maintained that Ms Rind’s family is demanding a judicial inquiry into the incident and wants police to take the case as a murder case.
