KARACHI: Dozens of suspects including a gang-war commander arrested during raids in various parts of the city in the wee hours of Friday, ARY News reported.
Thirty suspected miscreants were taken into custody by police during raids in Gulberg, Samanabad, and Khamiso Goth.
According to police sources, heavy contingent of police conducted raids in these areas after receiving a tip-off about presence of some miscreants.
In another raid by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Soldier Bazar area, a municipal inspector, Nadeem Niazi, was arrested for his alleged involvement in bulldozing a school building in the area.
Police also arrested an alleged gang-war operative after an encounter while two of his accomplices managed to flee from the scene. Police also seized illegal arms from his possession.
Arrested gangster was identified as Arif, who is said to be involved in drug-peddling, extortion, killing of two brothers and a policeman.
