Karachi Kings pull off incredible victory against Quetta Gladiators

KARACHI: Karachi Kings beat Quetta Gladiators by one run in the second match of the last-leg of the Pakistan Super League season 4 in Karachi on Sunday.

Even though Ahmed Shehzad (99 off 57) had singlehandedly kept Quetta in the game, but Usman Shinwari ripped apart three wickets and defended five runs in final over to snatch the victory for the Kings.

Umer Khan had grabbed some crucial early wickets.

Earlier, Karachi Kings set a victory target of 191.

Babar Azam (56 off 46) and Colin Munro (30 off 26) had set the momentum for Karachi Kings, later joined by unbeaten Iftikhar Ahmed (44 off 18), Colin Ingram (24 off 10) and Ben Dunk (18 off 11).

At the end of 18 overs, Quetta Gladiators seemed easy marching towards victory with seven wickets in hand and only 24 runs away from the total, but the fate had other plans.

Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United have now qualified into the Playoffs, while Lahore Qalandars are out of the race.
