KARACHI: In a crackdown against unscrupulous elements, police rounded up 18 suspects during search operations in Orangi Town’s Tori Bangash and Mominabad areas late Saturday night.
According to SP Orangi Town Abid Baloch, police recovered two pistols during the raids.
He said all exit and entry routes to the areas were roped off during the combing operation.
In another incident, a suspected street criminal was taken into custody late Saturday night during a search operation in Saudabad area of the metropolis.
Police have identified him as Abdul Sattar and claimed to have recovered snatched mobile phones, cash and pistol from his possession.
Two injured over resistance to robbery bid
Separately, two residents sustained gunshot injuries in separate incidents of firing after putting up resistance to robbery bids near Kaala Pul and Allahwala Town in Korangi industrial area of the city.
Both residents received gunshot wounds after offering resistance to robbery attempts, authorities said.
