Khadija Shah sent to jail on seven-day remand

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist and former finance minister Dr Salman Shah’s daughter, Khadija Shah has been sent to jail on seven-day judicial remand by the anti-terrorism court (ATC) in the Jinnah House attack case, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

Khadija Shah has been produced before the ATC Lahore by police today after she was arrested yesterday in the Jinnah House attack case. The accused PTI activist stayed in a prison van for two hours on the court premises.

Shah also protested for keeping her in the prison van for hours and complained about having breathing issues. Later, she along with another accused was produced before the ATC by police.

During the hearing, the investigation officer (IO) apprised the ATC judge that the accused should be sent to jail for an identification parade. After reviewing the records, the ATC judge approved seven-day judicial remand of Khadija Shah and sent her to the jail for an identification parade.

The court also allowed Shah to meet her husband in the courtroom. Shah said she was having breathing problems in the prison van amid hot weather as she is an asthma patient.

The court directed the police to produce Shah in the next hearing on May 30 after the identification parade and also ordered the concerned officials to conduct her medical examination.

Yesterday, police arrested the daughter of former finance minister Salman Shah and fashion designer Khadija Shah in the Jinnah House attack case on May 09.

Khadija Shah had reportedly surrendered before the SSP CIA police Malik Liaquat in Iqbal Town Lahore.

Punjab Police conducted raids at three locations but failed to arrest designer Khadija Shah, who is allegedly involved in the Jinnah House attack.

They stated that Khadija Shah had taken refuge at Meher Tareen’s house, upon raiding there she fled from the scene. The police had said that Khadija Shah left wearing a veil to hide her identity one hour before the police team arrived.
