Landslide at Jiwani picnic spot: Body found as rescuers search for survivors

GWADAR: Rescuers recovered the body of a child and an injured person from under the rubble of the landslide at a picnic spot near Balochistan’s Jiwani town, ARY News reported on Sunday.

A landslide hit the Jiwani picnic spot and many people are feared trapped under the debris. According to the reports, picnickers were present when the boulder hit the site.

The rescue teams of the Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) rushed to the landslide-hit spot.

Rescuers recovered the body of a child and a wounded person from under the rubble of the landslide, whereas, four to five persons are feared trapped there. The rescue teams expedited efforts to search for survivors.

Earlier in the month, a landslide struck a track of Shahrah-i-Noor Jehan Road near the hillock area of Karachi’s Kati Pahari.

A video showed several vehicles stopped due to the landslide while a crowd was filming videos of the blocked road track struck by huge rocks and slabs.

Police and rescue teams reached the site after a boulder hit a track of Shahrah-i-Noor Jehan near Kati Pahari in Karachi. Police said that no casualty was reported in the landslide incident.

After the landslide, a road track was partially blocked for traffic.
