LHC acquits a death row convict

A man named Zameer was awarded death penalty by a lower court for raping and murdering an eight year old girl. He then filed an appeal in the high court against the capital punishment.

A division bench of LHC heard his appeal today. He was released after the bench found contradictions between the forensic reports, eye witness accounts and statements of the witnesses.
