A military court had awarded capital punishment to terrorists Asif Idrees, Ahsaan Azeem, Mohammad Nadeem, Kamran Aslam and Aamir Yousuf. They were to be hanged in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat Jail today.
A petition was filed by the relatives of the convicts. It was stated in the petition that the verdict was announced by a military court and the convicts did not had the right to appeal against the verdict.
LHC ordered the concerned authorities to suspend the execution of the five terrorists and sought a reply from the federal and provincial governments over the matter on 12th January.
