LAHORE: A tribute is being paid to Major Shabbir Sharif Nishan-e-Haider on his 33rd day of martyrdom at Miani Saahab Graveyard here on Friday, ARY News reports.
Major General Sajjad Ali Khan and General Officer Commanding Major General Bilal Akbar laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha at the last abode of the martyr.
The family of the martyred soldier was also present during the ceremony.
Major Shabbir Sharif embraced martyrdom in the 1971 war against India valiantly fighting at Sulemanki sector.
He is the only martyr who received a sword of honor as Cadet at Pakistan Military Academy Kakul.
The present Army Chief of Pakistan General Raheel Sharif is the younger brother of Major Shabbir Sharif.
