Maryam, Hamza appear before PML-N parliamentary board

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Shehbaz on Sunday appeared before the party’s parliamentary board formed to allot party tickets for the upcoming general elections.

Maryam expressed gratitude for appearing before the parliamentary board as a “worker and candidate’. She said that she has applied for tickets on two constituencies and the party will make the final decision.

“Felt great to have appeared, alongside Hamza, before the PML-N parliamentary board for interview as PML-N workers and candidates,” she wrote on Twitter.

The board chaired by PML-N supremo and ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif interviewed candidates aspiring to be lawmakers. President Shehbaz Sharif also appeared for an interview before the party’s parliamentary board

In another tweet, Maryam shared a video where the former Punjab chief minister was seem appraising the board about a visit to Karachi. Shehbaz has filed nomination and will contest from three constituencies in Karachi.

He also praised the PML-N leadership and said the people of Karachi appreciate Nawaz Sharif for restoring peace to the city. He also said that Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were neglected and were facing extreme poverty, and there was a need to concentrate on these two provinces.

In another post, Nawaz was seen flanked by former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Raja Zafarul Haq, praising Shehbaz Sharif for the development works in Punjab. He also said that party turncoats were not as much as expected and those who left were insignificant.

“PML-N, the only torch bearer, flag bearer of democracy and civilian supremacy,” Maryam claimed in her tweet.
