The Indian authorities described the claims as “completely baseless”. The MQM said it was not going to comment.

The report further says, “British authorities held formal recorded interviews with senior MQM officials who told them the party was receiving Indian funding.”
Meanwhile, the Indian High Commission has rejected the report. It said “Shortcomings of governance cannot be rationalised by blaming neighbours.”
The reports also say that BBC has also temporarily closed its office in Karachi.
MQM denies charges leveled in BBC report
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has turned down all the allegations leveled against it in the BBC report that surfaced on Wednesday.

In a release issued, the London Raabita Committee stated that MQM is a patriotic political party and it believes in the integrity and stability of Pakistan.
“The report is part of a campaign to distort the image of party in Pakistan and in the world as well,” it added.
