The murdered worker was identified as Hasan Mojatab Zaidi, a senior party loyalist and worker.
The incident took place on Station Road when unknown gunmen opened fire on Zaidi while he was on his motorcycle with three of his children.
Heavily injured, he was soon shifted to Civil Hospital but was soon pronounced dead.
As soon as the news broke out, MQM Hyderabad’s Zonal Incharge Naveed Shamsi and other MQM workers reached hospital.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain and the party’s co-ordination committee (Rabita Committee) condemned the murder of Zaidi in strong words.
