LAHORE: Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) chief Mustafa Kamal arrived here today to meet Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri to discuss political situation against the backdrop of the report of a judicial inquiry into the Model Town incident that left 14 people dead.
Kamal, accompanied by party leaders Raza Haroon and Iftikhar Randhawa, will visit the PAT chief in the afternoon at the latter’s invitation to garner support of political parties to press for the resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif following the damning report.
Speaking to the media after his arrival at Lahore airport, the PSP chief said his party would decide its future line of action after meeting with Qadri.
He said his party was in touch with other political parties too. A lot of changes have occurred in the wake of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s ouster in the Panama Papers case, he added.
Touching upon the issues plaguing the people, he said millions of children were still out of schools and millions more were suffering from different diseases.
Kamal said the PSP has focused its energies and attention on highlighting the real issues of the country.
On Thursday, PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari visited the PAT head office and met Qadri. A delegation comprising Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jahangir Tareen, Chaudhry Sarwar, Aleem Khan, Ejaz Chaudhry, and Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed is expected to visit the PAT chief in a day or two.
