Cheema is accused of making illegal appointments in the Gujranwala Electric Supply Company (Gepco) and exceeding his authority.
He will be presented before an accountability court on Friday (tomorrow) for the sake of remand.
Cheema is also an accused in the rental power project case that involves former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf.
