According to details, Nabiha had expressed her wish to marry the man named Umar, who was a friend of her and is currently the prime suspect in the case.
Umar told the investigating officials that Nabiha was just a good friend of him, adding, “She herself wanted to marry him, he did not wish so”.
Umar also said that Nabiha misinterpreted in her diary that he was not responding to her text messages.
Police officials however released the man as they did not find substantial evidence against him.
Earlier to this, police had restated that Nabiha Chaudhry committed suicide by sprinkling petrol and setting herself ablaze, as suggested in her autopsy report.
Nabiha’s family however had rejected this notion and registered a murder case against unknown culprits.
On October 15, a female CSP officer, Nabiha Chaudhry’s burnt dead body was found from her room at the hostel of Audit and Accounts Training Institute, Lahore.
The deceased officer had passed the Central Superior Services (CSS) exam a year ago and was on training at the Audit and Accounts Training Institute.
