LONDON: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supreme leader Mian Nawaz Sharif on Friday announced that he is returning to Pakistan hours after an accountability court awarded him a 10-year sentence in the Avenfield reference, ARY News reported.
In his first response to the court’s verdict, Nawaz Sharif, who is in the British capital, said that he will return to the country as soon as his ailing wife regains consciousness but claimed that he is not being punished for corruption but for changing the course of country’s history and demanding respect for vote.
“I am coming back to Pakistan but will continue my struggle even if I have to go to jail,” said Nawaz Sharif.
